This social project was carried out at the Gema Insan Amanah Foundation Orphanage located on Jl Mangkunegara, Mekarmukti, North Cikarang District, West Java, Indonesia. Rumah Yatim Yayasan Gema Insan Amanah is a social institution that provides care and protection to orphans in North Cikarang District.
Our project aimed to collect Rp 1,512,000 in funds, and we are pleased to announce that we successfully met this goal. In addition, we planned and executed five different social support activities: coloring, a presentation, games, a communal meal, and gift distribution. All these activities were conducted successfully, achieving our objectives and bringing joy to the children involved.
Regarding participation, our target was to involve 15 children aged 6-12 years. Although we fell short of this goal with 11 children participating, those who took part had a memorable and enriching experience. Overall, we are proud of our accomplishments and grateful for the support that made this project possible.
Creative exercises involving coloring and writing about dreams, hopes, and motivation were particularly effective. These activities boosted children's motivation and provided a valuable emotional outlet. However, some children were initially reluctant to share their dreams publicly, requiring extra encouragement from the committee.
Participating in presentations increased the children's confidence and public speaking skills. Some individuals were initially nervous but improved with practice. However, varying presentation skills posed a challenge for consistent group improvement.

Zahra, a third grader, dreams of becoming a doctor to help people and isn’t yet expected to understand or draw hospital equipment.
Sharing meals together was effective for strengthening social bonds and fostering a sense of community. These communal meals provided a relaxed setting for interaction, consistent with literature on social cohesion. However, diverse dietary preferences and restrictions posed a significant challenge.
Physical activities like ball games were highly effective in promoting teamwork. The high level of engagement exceeded expectations, showing the children's preference for such activities. However, weather conditions occasionally disrupted sessions, affecting their consistency.
The distribution of gifts elicited positive emotional responses and increased motivation among the children, consistent with research on gift-giving's impact. However, some children were disappointed by the gift colors, highlighting the importance of understanding individual preferences. Additionally, the logistical challenge of ensuring every child received a gift emphasized the need for thorough planning.
